Our four main research areas are:

• Migration churches (e.g., the East Asian diaspora churches in Germany).
• Bible translation (e.g. translation criticism of Chinese Bible translations)
• Cultural hermeneutics (e.g., points of connection of East Asian pop culture to the gospel)
• Sinotheological designs

In addition to research, the department seeks to network mission agencies, churches, and like-minded individuals who share the concern of “East Asia and East Asians.”
